Pastor Matt

Dear Sandy Creek Faith Family,

I am tremendously grateful for the successful ministry we enjoyed in February with the Valentine’s Banquet and Inseparable Marriage Weekend. Our willingness to step out in faith and host this event offered tremendous blessing. Still, I expect God is going to continue to do greater things through Sandy Creek.

This hope provides a continued opportunity for me to challenge you with the words of Paul. He offered “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Cor 15:58, NIV) I appreciate how this version renders the verse so direct – “give yourselves full to the work of the Lord”. He follows with a good reason for such commitment; because our Kingdom work is not in vain! In your partnership with Sandy Creek, we aim to equip you to make an eternal difference. In these coming months and years – God is going to use you to share the life transforming and life-giving Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our celebration of Jesus’s mighty victory over death, both physical and spiritual, is quickly approaching. I cannot think of any day or event in our context that sets people’s minds on the church as much as Christmas and Easter. We recognize these are more than special events, but a celebration of the great truth that God entered His creation to perfectly reveal Himself and prove His love by a sacrificial death and victorious resurrection. This message “is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16b, ESV) This message lies at the heart of our mission and purpose at Sandy Creek. Through our special services for Easter and in the coming months, we will intentionally carry out ministries to reach our community with the Love of Christ revealed in the Gospel – each ministry provides you an opportunity to serve the Lord.

We are preparing for several ministries aimed at equipping and encouraging families with children. On May 17th we will host a talented musical performer for a children’s concert. Slugs & Bugs provides entertaining and fun songs that engage children with the Bible. The act will come to us from Nashville immediately on the heels of an international tour through the United Kingdom. This will be an energetic concert that will allow you to invite your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and others with children to visit Sandy Creek! There will also be an opportunity for you to serve at this event to create a safe and hospitable environment!

Our children’s concert provides a venue to promote our Vacation Bible School. This is one of many ministries that demonstrate our commitment to families hearing the Good News. It is a special opportunity for you to get a first-hand view of God at work. Please prayerfully consider connecting with our VBS coordinator, Mrs. Becky Harrison, to discover a place to serve with this ministry. You will be encouraged and blessed as you spend time with other disciples intentionally encouraging the spiritual growth of children and their families. Even now, you can play a significant part in sharing the word about this event with friends, neighbors, family…even the stranger at the grocery store with a cart full of little ones!

I look forward to serving with you! Thank you for your partnership in sharing the Gospel and growing in godliness. I praise God for our commitment as a faith family to grow spiritually and make a commitment to be both hearers and doers of God’s word (James 1:22-25).

Your Servant,

Pastor Matt
