Pre-K
Our class is for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. We sing and learn motions to Bible action songs. Each Sunday, we learn to pray and go over the plan of salvation using different colors to help us remember. We have a short Bible lesson and coloring sheet to go along with the lesson. We have a lot of fun! We meet in the classroom across from the Pastor’s office.
Youth Grade 1-4
In the 1st to 4th grade Sunday School Class we always open with prayer requests, the kids enjoy sharing what is important to them. We have fun with an introductory game that ties into our Bible lesson for the day! The Bible lesson is straight from scripture and we welcome any questions the children may have. We always end with prayer and when they have been attentive and quiet they can choose a quiet critter to take home! We meet downstairs in the Llewellyn Room.
Youth Grade 5-7
Our Sunday school class is for 5th and 6th graders. We follow the Biblical Timeline and lessons are in chronological order. We study maps, time lines, draw, play games and make crafts all to enhance the Word of God. We learn the books of the Bible and know the main theme of each book. We take turns reading the Bible and acting out some stories. Emphasis is given to God's inspired Word and the truth which may be different than what they get in school. The children learn about Baptism, Salvation, and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. The class is teacher lead but freedom for children to take the lead with prayers and questions and discussions. After 23 years of teaching this class I always am encouraged and excited about seeing the children grow into young adults who have a firm Biblical foundation and want to continue their study! We meet downstairs in the Grandma Llewellyn Room.
High School
The teen Sunday school class currently serves teens in grades 7 – 12. Our class operates in the manner of small group discussions as we move through the Bible in chronological order. Our Scripture study and discussions are guided by curriculum through The Gospel Project and led by the youth pastor.
As we move through Scripture, the curriculum presents questions that challenge the students to reveal God’s lessons and examine how we can apply those lessons to our everyday lives and how it relates to life within today’s world. We meet downstairs in the Bell Room.
Open Circle
The Open Circle class is a Bible study group, open to adults of all ages from young adults to seniors. We use the Bible to explore, study and discuss a wide range of topics as chosen by the class. We have no set curriculum, and topics range from current events, to detailed studies of books or events in the Bible, to religion in general…whatever piques the interest of class members. Discussion and active participation are encouraged and is what makes this class work. If a Bible based, energetic discussion and study group is of interest to you, please come join us. Mixed Adults Bible Study
Adults of all ages are welcomed as we study God's word using Lifeway's "Bible Study For Life" with Scriptures in HCSV as a guide. We
meet downstairs in the Carter Room.
Ladies New Testament
In this class, we go through books in the New Testament verse by verse by expository teaching. We follow John MacArthur’s teachings and have open discussions about how scripture can be applied to our lives. We meet downstairs in the Joyce Room.
Adult Ladies
We are the oldest Sunday School Class just for women. Generally we have about 6 or 7 members attending out of about 10. Even though we are older we all have a sense of humor and have been known to tease one another....but we also know who not to mess with!
We appreciate expositional teaching, and the Bible is our go-to for any question. Our material is Hershel Hobbs/Lifeway Christian. Our fellowship here in this class is very close and we welcome newcomers into our fold. A sense of humor helps.
At our age we have seen and been through a lot of life. Our perspective reflects this. Our lessons relate to the life we live. We meet in the Sanctuary.
