SCBC Youth

Our senior youth meet every Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We spend this time together in prayer, eating dinner, studying God’s Word, serving our church, serving our community, and having lots of fun. It is the mission of our youth leadership to minister to these young men and women to guide them as they understand how to follow Jesus in today’s world.

Through our studies and activities, we strive to not only help these students build relationships with one another, but most importantly build their relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive to motivate our youth to live out the motto of our church.

Love God: We do this through prayer and the study of God’s Word. This may also include book studies, video lessons, and small group discussions. Learning is not only limited to just our campus. We continue to look for opportunities for our students to learn through youth conferences and/or seminars.

Love People: This is done through our commitment to our church and our community. Having the youth be involved in church events, community events, and special youth-hosted events provides the opportunity to love on our fellow believers, as well as those who may not yet know what Jesus did for them. This can be as simple as stuffing backpacks full of school supplies and including personalized messages of encouragement to hosting family movie nights and serving up some good eats and treats.

Love to Tell the Story: Through the activities and studies we participate in, we build the youth’s ability to not only stand on the Word of God but to proclaim it as truth and not be ashamed to live a life that is different from those who are in the world. This allows them to share the good news of Jesus to others not only through their words, but through their actions.

The leadership here at SCBC desire for our youth to be a direct reflection of Christ and His love for us.

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16 ESV
